With over 12 years of dedicated legal experience, Attorney Cassidy H. Crough is a formidable advocate known for her fierce representation in the courtroom. A former prosecutor with a robust background in both criminal and family law, she has successfully transitioned her career to focus on family law, where her passion for justice and client advocacy truly shines. Attorney Crough is also a Guardian Ad Litem for children and assists her clients with real estate and probate matters.
Before founding Crough Law, Attorney Crough honed her skills at the prestigious Moots Pellegrini in New Milford, CT, where she advised and represented clients on a wide range of matrimonial issues, including divorce, child custody, and property settlements. Her meticulous approach to conducting hearings and trials, coupled with her expertise in drafting pleadings and negotiating favorable settlements, has earned her a reputation as a trusted ally for her clients.
Prior to her tenure at Moots Pellegrini, Attorney Crough served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx, where she conducted numerous jury trials and presented more than 100 cases to the Grand Jury. Her experience in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, combined with her role as an Associate Legal Advisor for the Department of Homeland Security, has equipped her with a unique perspective on the complexities of the law and the importance of thorough investigation and advocacy.
Attorney Crough is committed to fighting for her clients' best interests, leveraging her extensive courtroom experience to achieve just outcomes. As she embarks on this new chapter with Crough Law, she looks forward to providing compassionate and effective legal representation to families navigating challenging times.
Outside of her legal practice, Attorney Crough is dedicated to community service and continues to engage in professional development to stay at the forefront of the law. She is a proud member of the Litchfield, Danbury and Connecticut Bar Associations ensuring that she remains connected to the evolving landscape of her practice. Attorney Crough also serves as the Senior Vice President of the Jason D. Lewis Brookfield Memorial VFW Auxiliary Post 10201 where she volunteers her time to give back to veterans and her community. Attorney Crough resides in New Milford with her husband, their son and two dogs, Gunner and Sergeant.

Samantha Trohalis
Paralegal
Samantha is a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal with a strong background in both corporate and family law. She joined Crough Law in April 2025 and has quickly become an integral part of the team, supporting the firm’s mission to provide compassionate, high-quality legal services in divorce and family law matters.
Before joining Crough Law, Samantha worked as a Corporate Paralegal in the Legal & Compliance division at KKR in New York City, where she managed global entity compliance, supported legal documentation processes, and assisted senior leadership with regulatory and audit-related requests. Her experience at KKR honed her skills in high-volume, fast-paced environments and gave her a deep understanding of the legal and operational intricacies of large organizations.
Earlier in her career, she worked at The Law Offices of John Drew Warlick P.A., where she handled all aspects of family law cases. This experience sparked her interest in working closely with clients and supporting them through complex legal processes.
Samantha is known for her strong work ethic, client-first mindset, and commitment to delivering exceptional service. She resides in Bethel, Connecticut, and is proud to be part of a firm dedicated to helping individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging transitions.
